You can find the kde frontend on the following place:

excellent tool.

is this going to be standard in the next version ? should be

also is there a way to have a region setting as well ?
Then the user could select one setting for country that would then also change the keyboard locale and set the time to display the regional time ?

This really is an excellent tool (for those using kde). Can it be used/modified for non-kde desktop?

What I am missing is an option to set the clock to UTC. Just a little checkbox "clock uses UTC" or so. I'd love to see that in the installer but in your siduxcc it also would be nice.

looks great! it would also be nice to have the ability to switch video drivers as well as dpi like the old knxcc did.

I agree with HK-47 - I need to change drivers for some 3D applications (vesa for mga) - I'm not sure how to do that now!

Add this to the KDE menu for time:

su-me kcmshell kde-clock.desktop --lang en_US

Doesn't do the UTC thing, but does pop up a box to set the time.

All you need to do to set the hwclock to UTC is to run :
hwclock --systohc --utc

A text based siduxcc is nice to have too...in case you need to change settings for kde or setting up drivers while in init 3.

At the moment slh is testing the program. After that he will decide if it comes to the repo.

diddy1234 wrote:

I will think about it. For countries like us, gb or de it would be a good idea. but what i should do with countries like switzerland with different languages and keyboardlayouts?

anticapitalista wrote:

If you have installed a minimal kde, it should work. You can also start the modules direct with the command kcmshell. E.g.
Code:
kcmshell siduxcc_display

Good idea. It will come to the ToDo-list.

if it's possible i will do it.

Thanks craigevil for the hwclock hint. After a few detours I have convinced the sidux clock to accept the BIOS time as UTC. Nonetheless it would be nice to have a graphical switch. Xadras, I really love your siduxcc!

BTW: xadras, craigevil - you twins are confusing me Wink.

When I apply the .deb, it installs but nothing in Control Center. So, I pulled up Adept just to see if Siduxcc was listed and it was, but it had "broken" next to it. Did not work for me.

remove it and try again, i think, dpkg -i lets you know of a dependency you have to fullfill first, forgot, what it was.

What does the AutoStart do?
It seems to toggle each time I look at it,
but nothing seems to change, that I notice.

sidux-khelpers will no longer updated. Because i have integrated the component sidux-kdu in the siduxcc and i end the development of sidux-ktray.

Attention!

By some users there were troubles with the function register fonts.

Even if the functions works up to now without problems and there were no changes, i suggest to not use the function until the problems are resolved.

Hello, seeing how there is many development kernels being released, could you integrate some sort of check box to enable the experimental kernel (current is 2.6.22-rc7) similar to a sm -K to enable installation of the development kernels? As I see many in the IRC, on here, and myself are using the experimental kernel. Could you please consider on implementing it?? The siduxcc is a very pleasurable front-end to use, that option would be a bery welcome addition of sidux and KDE. Smile

YEA MAN Very Happy holy crap that loooks very nice, seems basically exactly what I meant Very Happy wow thank you for considering xadras, it really does look nice ( a nicer more spread out layout than current as well Wink ). I do expect many who run sidux do run the experimental kernel for device support and such, it would really help the novice stay current through a GUI point-n-click option, but maybe you should give a bit more warning in the intro above like

*WARNING* A current Kernel is reccomended, the experimental Kernel should NOT be your main choice unless hardware incompatibility limits a person to use the latest experimental kernel or if you help debug the kernel. In any case, choose the latest kernel for stability reasons.

LOL, some warning like such, but hey the way you have it currently IS just what I'd like aswell (and asked for), but that is just maybe a later implementation if we find many noobs are getting screwed by chosing it Razz

BUT all I can say is WOW, nice work, and I REALLY hope it can get into the main siduxcc module. As I really hope to see it in there in due time, its very nice on the eyes Smile

THANKS, and Bye

Moin xadras,

siduxcc -- init3 -- gets stuck in a loop between line 27-30.
All done twice according to the CC-instructions.
apt-get upgrade went 100%
