| I like the deep red; gives a somehow serious touch. IMO the text and buttons in inactive windows' titlebars are too invisible. Is kicker gonna stay this way? Looks a little bleached out. |

| Kicker is not my decision and it has nothing to do with the color scheme. Moreover, I am planing to add that "serious-official-sidux-red" to the "highlited item", but I don't know the Hex RGB code for that color. If anyone can post it here, that would be a five minute work to implement it. |

| another suggestion: i think it would be better if the colors for the active window were adjusted, to make it easier to distinguish from the inactive ones. |

That's the lighter red in the middle of the background.
Tip: Open it up with GIMP, und use the picker tool - it shows you the color code.
Greetings,

knithx,
very well done.
I like the invisible light theme a lot. Actually your combination of wallpaper and invisible light color scheme has become my default artwork for all installations of sidux. It looks really professional. I like the red selection bars. Would it be possible to have a new version of the color scheme with the modifications shown in the image just above my post?
There is only one small criticism. I am at work and cannot send you screenshots, but I would like to point out a behavior of this color scheme in k3b.
If you fire up k3b, you have in the lowest part a menu where you can select with the mouse the opration you want to perform (Create data dvd, create audio cd, etc.). With your color scheme, if you move the cursor over any item, the background of the item becomes unpleasantly black.
Also, when you burn the cd/dvd, the advancement bar is black.
I wanted to edit the color scheme to fix this, but in the KDE color scheme panel there is no entry for this. Maybe the black is tied to the black window title text?
Also I would like to point out that the window title of inactive windows, white over grey, is almost unreadable on my monitor, so I had to change it to a darker grey.
Thanks for you work! Have you had any feedback about this being chosen as the default color scheme?
Valerio
PS: Although I still think that sidux weakest point is the artwork, I have to admit that giant strides in the correct direction have been made with the second release. An work like the one shown in this thread makes me even more hopeful for the future. Apart from this sidux rocks!!! |

Thanks for the feedback!
I will try to solve out the problems you say. Thanks for being using it.
And no, anyone has told me about Invisible Light to be hiting next release by default. Maybe I should try to open a poll
Working on it right now. |

Invisible Light, default color scheme proposal for sidux Gaia
I've corrected the colors badly displayed in last version, and I have set different flavors for those who want to change a bit often. Obviously, the Red version would be the most appropriate to hit Gaia, as sidux artwork is mainly based in this color. So here they are:
Invisible Light Red
Invisible Light Green
Invisible Light Blue
Invisible Light 2
Of course, any suggestions or logical changes will be welcomed and the discussion for adapting Invisible Light to sidux, should be here and by every single of you.
Waiting for your feedback!
PS: valmar, about K3B, you only have to set to Red/Green/Blue/WhateverColourYouWant the property Active Title Text. It's not my fault |

| Could you post the kcsrc files (from ~/.kde/share/apps/kdisplay/color-schemes) please? |

knithx,
thanks for the update. All colors look mighty fine, but I still like the red best. May I ask you what ksplash picture are you using with this wallpaper / color scheme? None of the ones available by default looks good, so for now I am leaving no ksplash as default.
Valerio
PS.: I created a kdm login theme for this color scheme/wallpaper using pieces of a theme available on kde-arts. I will check the license, but if it allows modification and redistribution, would anyone be interested in it?
EDIT: PPS. Excuse me one more question. Which icon set are you using? Sorry for bothering you so much, but you are really rescuing me in the aesthetic department |

Hi valmar!
I don't use any ksplash at all (none), I have to say I am a very minimalist guy. Simple it's ok, since it is just a progress bar.
It would be great to have a look to your KDM Login theme, since the ones I know doesn't fit my taste. Once again, I don't use KDM theme at all, just a square where I enter the password.
About my iconset, I use nuoveXT, i think it is the best icon theme around. For style I use Polyester (glassy style, as you can see) and for Window decoration just Plastik.
You are not bothering me, I love styling my desktop and sharing opinions with others |

Hi knithx, I love the color schemes and want to integrate them into the next sidux release, with one of them default.
cleary outlined some contribution details at:
http://sidux.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-2032.html
I know these are just small text files, but it would be good if you released them under some license (eg GPL) and stamped your name on top. |

Wow!!! Tomorrow morning I will double check and pack everything with the license. Just last three observations:
1. It is personally recommended to use Polyester as style (as it is used in all images shown in this post). It is available at Debian repositories, and can be installed by:
Code:
apt-get install kde-style-polyester
2. For using "Invisible Light" in the right way, Plastik options must be as shown behind:
3. As spoken with cleary in #sidux-art, we think the default version of "Invisible Light" should be "Invisible Light", the silver one (see). It goes well with everything, and fits great with the artwork proposed for Gaia.
A big thank to you all,
knithx |
