Again thanks a whole lot for your efforts, your very detailed explanations are greatly appreciated!
Your pretty nice descriptions of each of the used terms are picturing its purpose very well, for I think I may have understood your approach on my problem, and am given basic insight on the way python works 
Oh, and I had quite some testruns with it, and so far I couldnt experience any flaw in it. Of course I am usually creating backups of any files I am about to alter.
