A little later than planned due to a number of library transitions in Debian/ sid, we now have the pleasure to announce the immediate availability of sidux 2008-02 "Έρεβος", shipping in roughly ≈470 MB kde-lite flavours for amd64 and i386 (i686), a combined i386+amd64 release with ≈1.5 GB KDE for kde-full and, as usual, an xdelta to add initial localisations for all currently supported languages. Enhancing the sidux family, a roughly ≈420 MB large XFCE variant has been added for amd64 and i386 (i686) for the first time.

sidux is a full featured Debian sid based live CD with a special focus on hard disk installations, a clean upgrade path within sid and additional hard- and software support. The ISO is completely based on Debian sid, enriched and stabilized with sidux' own packages and scripts.

A little later than planned, sidux 2008-02 "Έρεβος" is now ready to enter the preview season for amd64 and i686 systems. As usual the previews are shipping only as a small (≈460 MB), but fully functional, KDE-lite flavour, to ease up testing and xdelta uploads and will be accompanied by the combined ≈1.5 GB KDE-full variant for the final release.

sidux is a full featured Debian sid based live CD with a special focus on hard disk installations, a clean upgrade path within sid and additional hard- and software support. The ISO is completely based on Debian sid, enriched and stabilized with sidux' own packages and scripts.

sidux e.V. is pleased to announce the release of the second edition of sidux-DVD. The sidux-DVD is a loosely updated project that incorporates both 32 bit and 64 bit in one Iso.
Based on the current Nyx release it presents an enhanced package list of KDE apps and, in addition to the first release. Included are language environments for the following languages: en_AU, en_GB, da_DK, de_DE, es_ES, en_US, fr_FR, hr_HR, ja_JP, nl_NL, pt_BR,, pt_PT, ro_RO and ru_RU
This DVD release is not available for download but only in the sidux Webshop

sidux e.V. is pleased to present to you today the first version of sidux-seminarix here for download. This is a educational project that merges Seminarix with the base of sidux. Seminarix is aimed at schooling teachers as well as pupils with free and open software to make computer training in schools less costly and more effective. The project was initiated in March 2007 by Wolf-Dieter Zimmermann, who works in the education of students for a teaching credential. First based upon Kubuntu, sidux e.V. started to port it to sidux with the help of teachers and interested users. With sidux as a powerfull free and open Linux distribution the Seminarix project now has a fast, easy to maintain and always current base.
