A little later than planned due to a number of library transitions in Debian/ sid, we now have the pleasure to announce the immediate availability of sidux 2008-02 "Έρεβος", shipping in roughly ≈470 MB kde-lite flavours for amd64 and i386 (i686), a combined i386+amd64 release with ≈1.5 GB KDE for kde-full and, as usual, an xdelta to add initial localisations for all currently supported languages. Enhancing the sidux family, a roughly ≈420 MB large XFCE variant has been added for amd64 and i386 (i686) for the first time.

sidux is a full featured Debian sid based live CD with a special focus on hard disk installations, a clean upgrade path within sid and additional hard- and software support. The ISO is completely based on Debian sid, enriched and stabilized with sidux' own packages and scripts.

As usual the previews are shipping only as a small (≈460 MB), but fully functional, KDE-lite flavour, to ease up testing and xdelta uploads and will be accompanied by the combined ≈1.5 GB KDE-full variant for the final release.

As some of you might have seen in todays news, Debian had a serious problem with SSL Keys.
Good reference and ways to fix it are online.
Please follow their advice, its a serious topic.

The Italian -it version of the the sidux Operating System manual hits the sidux site with zenren and speedygeo as translators and maintainers !!!!

The Italian version of sidux-manuals has been in the works for nearly 14 months. It was started by alessiog75, then dedo picked it up, (unfortunately he could not continue either), followed months later by fortalomo whom has subsequently moved continents.

Then along came speedygeo and zenren. zenren really put the foot to the floor in true Italian fashion!

sidux e.V. is pleased to announce the release of the second edition of sidux-DVD. The sidux-DVD is a loosely updated project that incorporates both 32 bit and 64 bit in one Iso.
Based on the current Nyx release it presents an enhanced package list of KDE apps and, in addition to the first release. Included are language environments for the following languages: en_AU, en_GB, da_DK, de_DE, es_ES, en_US, fr_FR, hr_HR, ja_JP, nl_NL, pt_BR,, pt_PT, ro_RO and ru_RU
This DVD release is not available for download but only in the sidux Webshop
